I have had ramen at some great ramen places in London, such as Tonkotsu and Shoryo ramen shops in Soho. Okan does very good ramen, and the experience was as good as the others. Okan's speciality is its tan tan ramen, which uses miso pork mince instead of sliced chashu pork which is used in the tonkotsu version which is also the most common form of ramen served in London. The tan tan ramen by itself makes this place quite unique. Okan has a very 'canteen' feel as far as decor is concerned. However the prices are not very canteenish, which is a shame. I guess one needs to pay for a canteen feel in London.

Way nicer to come here than its sister place (Okan Okonomiyaki) in Brixton Market if you want something more intimate. I know f-all about ramen tbh but everyone I've brought here that does says amazing things and comes back. It beats any ramen I ate during a month spent in NY and it's more delicate, better presented and with more flavour and honesty than any ramen I've had anywhere else in London. Early evenings you wont need to book (but you should anyway). Try everything on the menu. It's all good. Trust me on this.

I love ramen. I eat ramen as often as possible and always enjoy eating it while on vacation. Our first night in London we were all exhausted and fighting colds. We decided not to travel into the city and instead find something to eat nearby. This place was about a mile from our flat and although has few reviews seemed promising, so we were on our way. We arrived around 9p and the place was packed! We were seated at the bar and ordered gyoza, beer, and three bowls of spicy tonkotsu. The gyoza was delicious and you could definitely tell that it was homemade. The ramen was delicious! The noodles were excellent and the broth was flavorful and the right amount of spice. The egg was pretty good, not the best I've had but still good. The portion sizes were perfect and we walked home with full bellies. The beer was delicious!

Visiting from the other side of the pond. I can say the ramen was absolutely amazing. The gyoza is simply the best I've had. The broth in the ramen I order was the best I've had. It was very busy but totally worth being patient, since they have absolutely great food and service.

Finally got to visit the latest Okan restuarant - Okan Ramen. I spotted spicey miso ramen on the menu and immediately selected that, along with gioza and kimuchi to start with. I was extremely tempted to try the special brand of Japanese craft beer that they offer here, but will save that for next time (it's 9%!!!). The ramen was absolutely superb, easily a match for the very best ramen I've had in Tokyo, the gioza...so delightful that I ordered a second plate. The restaurant has a great vibe, the staff are wonderful and given the quality of the food I was surprised not to see a queue outside (as you see outside Tokyo's top quality ramen establishments). In fact I hesitate to post this review, as undoubtedly this place will become the first choice of the true ramen connoisseur in London...and I want to make sure I can get a seat here every week!
